Import 3D model to CFDtool or FEAT

chaitanya.ganne@uth.tmc.edu
Good afternoon,

I have the brain blood vessels segmented out. Currently I have them in .stl format (the common format for 3d images). What is the best format in which I can import the 3D models into CFD tool? I spent sometime but couldn't figure out how to import .stl (stereolithography) format in CFD?

Thank you for your guidance.

Unfortunately STL files are a bit difficult in that the facets/triangles must very well conform to enclosed volumes, and have some way of identifying boundaries (typically with sharp angles). It is very hard to make an automatic algorithm for this but one of the better options is to use the "Robust" "Grid Generation Algorithm" in the "Grid Generation Settings".
