How to plot the stress distribution in the bending solid in Fluid structure interaction?

jaydeep
Hi

I am trying to understand the fluid structure interaction in the solved example case of elastic beam which comes under tutorials. Attaching the file as well if needed.
 fsi_example.feaelastic beam example file).

It is working and able to show the deformation. But while I can plot displacement and strain, the software doesn't seem to evaluate the stress components. Sorry, I am unable to understand the notations used the evaluation formulae. Has anyone faced this issue before? Can we not evaluate stresses within the solid component for FSI? Sorry this is the first time I have used FSI. I want to evaluate bending stresses within the solid moving part.

Best regards
J

It seems to be an issue that the thermal expansion coefficient "a_fsi" has not been pre-defined for fluid-structure interaction models. As a simple fix, you can simply add it as a coeffcient and set it to zero (if your problem isn't temperature dependent).
