used number of iterations as variable

For CFD Simulations:

Is there a variable or a function which gives me the number of iterations used to calculate a solution. Or the final solution changes/defects when the maximal number of iterations is reached?

I know that you can enable to display all of this, but I need it as a workspace variable.

The number of iterations/convergence properties are not physical properties and can therefore not be accessed as such variables. However, you can use the current iteration it in the nlrlx solvestat parameter to scale the non-linear relaxation as in the ex_navierstokes3 example (and similarly the simulation time t_sim for time dependent problems).
