Two fluid layers: Kelvin Helmholtz instability

thai1208
Does anyone know how to simulate the two fluid layers moving with uniform velocities, such as the Kelvin Helmholtz instability? The upper layer is moving with the uniform velocity U1, and the lower is with U2. How can we set up it? Thank you!

Hi,

There is currently no built-in or pre-defined physics mode in the GUI available for two-phase and multiphase flows. However, there are two experimental example m-script models of two-phase flows using the level set method that are quite similar to your application. Note that the level set implementation lacks re-distancing/reinitialization so the simulation will likely diverge and give poor results after some time without it:

Thank you for your response.
I will check those examples and come back if I have further questions.
