Queries about software license

์Natee_Panagant
Dear FEATool Officer,

My name is Natee Panagant from Khon Kaen University, Thailand.
I have some question about license of the FEATool.

1) Is the FEATool is freeware?
2) Do I need to pay any additional charge, if I want to use the FEATool in my research?

Dear Natee,

Thank you for your questions and interest in using FEATool Multiphysics in your research at Kohn Kaen University.

1) FEATool is currently free for trial, evaluation, and personal use with basic functionality (free usage does not include saving in convenient binary format, use of external solvers such as OpenFOAM and FEniCS, CAD, mesh, and data export, and is limited to GUI usage (no support for running m-file scripting)).

2) For research use it is recommended to use our discounted academic offer. You can always find the latest pricing and directly purchase from the homepage www.featool.com. Although we will not prohibit anyone from using free or trial versions, for professional work it is more efficient to use the binary file format and also by purchasing a license you would help support FEATool development and ensure that it is possible to continue work on improving FEATool.

Thanks again for getting in touch.

Best regards,

Johan
