I have a license with the registration token "XYZ" and get the error "IER=210, Could not find matching registration token" when trying to register?

This means that the entered registration token could not be found in the online licensing server database, which may have two causes:

(1) There was a typo entering the registration token, if you think this is the case please check your input and try again.

or more often:

(2) The registration token has already been used once, and can therefore not be used again.

All registration tokens are one time use, and can only register a single computer system/seat. When used, the registration token is converted to a unique license file and matched to the computer system that was used to register the software. After registration, the actual license key is stored on your computer in the file

  %USERPROFILE%/Documents/MATLAB/.featool/license.dat

  or

  %USERPROFILE%/Documents/MATLAB/.cfdtool/license.dat

Please note that, licenses are in general issued per computer system/seat so that all users on the same computer/system may use the software. To allow a different user on the same computer system to use the registered license, copy the "license.dat" file from the corresponding directory of the original user to the new user.

If you want to move a license to a new computer/system (meaning the license on your old system will be deactivated and made unavailable) or if the license suddenly stops working before the end of the license (as can sometimes happen after MATLAB updates or hardware modifications which changes the system identification), then please use the contact form with your license/purchasing information and submit a license change request.
